Talk:Community and Diversity

Was this just an excuse to link to Pony? Seriously though, good idea. It occurred to me just the other day that I don't know of a single female in the Habari community, although the anonymity of the Nick could be hiding something.--drzax 04:05, 25 October 2009 (UTC)

Ha! The link to Pony only occurred to me afterwards. There are women in the community, but unfortunately probably about the same representation as women in open source in general. I hope both become more diverse.--michaeltwofish sometime on 25 October 2009 (UTC)

Things we should add something along the lines of: All members of the community are expected to help maintain a welcoming environment. This means not only policing your own actions, but a responsibility to point out and and take action to stop behaviorss which can be harmful to the community.

Also, we may want to add a statement that acceptence doesn't mean agreement. You are free to disagree with others opinions and beliefs, but not to be disrespectful towards them because of those opinions and beliefs. Morydd 12:41, 25 October 2009 (UTC)

Good points, Morydd.--michaeltwofish 22:11, 29 October 2009 (UTC)
