Installation#Change_Permissions

Is this accurate? My host doesn't allow files to be group writable. Morydd 21:10, 18 January 2008 (UTC)

It is not strictly necessary to make the files group writable. You can also try these:

  • change ownership of the Habari directory to that of the user used by the httpd process
  • make the Habari directory writable by everyone in the world.

Can't even get to the installation page

All files installed in /var/www/habari, with full write permissions for the apache user on that directory and all subdirectories. The script automatically created an .htaccess file for me, but then I got the following errors:

Warning: curl_setopt(): supplied argument is not a valid File-Handle resource in system/classes/curlrequestprocessor.php line 60

Fatal error: Call to a member function get_results() on a non-object in /var/www/habari/system/classes/db.php on line 245

running php 5.2.5 on Mac OS 10.5.6 --fungiblename 09:19, 22 April 2009 (UTC)

Installation instructions need work

This page needs more work, and still seems to default to an assumption of MySQL + Apache. I suggest we separate the installation instructions by database and web server (not all web servers use .htaccess, for example).--michaeltwofish 00:01, 7 December 2009 (UTC)
